Here is a great craft we discovered this year! We made this fantastic dough out of cornstarch, baking soda and water - it was so smooth and easy to work with - and no cracking as it dried. We used cookie cutters to cut out shapes and then used rubber stamps to add details. Once the ornaments were dry we used stamp pads to dab the stamped images. This created a wonderful effect and really brought out the detail in the ornaments. The kids loved it and got creative, layering colours of ink.

Here is a link to the dough recipe...

Charlotte took her ornaments to a local craft sale and they were met with rave review! She was so proud!
Here are a few more pictures of the ornaments she and her buddy made...

Welcome!

Welcome to Fun with Fluff - a blog about those wonderful bits of "fluff" that make life a little happier. For some of us it is making the perfect piece of jewellery that is just so you.
Maybe it is getting really messy and enjoying the wonderful sensations that go with working with paint, clay or paper mache.

Maybe it discovering felting and realizing that it is a craft with so many possibilities!

Or maybe, just maybe, it is having the perfect tutu - personalized just for you!
And tutus don't need to be just for kids either - I've made them for grown ups too! You're excited aren't you...

When my daughter was born (a unbelievable 5 years ago!) I met this amazing group of women with children about the same age who have now become like sisters to me. Over the years husbands have joined in the friendship and now we have this amazing "family" of love, laughter, support and so much fun. I feel so blessed.
Our group includes artists from many fields. Painting, collage, felting, scrap booking, sewing, beading, wire work, to name just a few of our talents. Our kids have been raised with arts and crafts all around them and bring with them creativity and spontaneity that we as grown ups often envy.
This blog is a place to share ideas and projects we have done for our kids, with our kids, or just for ourselves. Enjoy! Now go make yourself a tutu - you know you want to...
